Roses


                   Roses are the right choice of every occasion. Although a rose of any color can simply mean gratitude and simplicity, over time they have been attributed to a varity of emotions and occasions which is discussed below......

White Rose

            Primary Significance: Purity, Innocence, Sympathy, Spirituality with its pristine appearance, the elegant White Rose has come to symbolize purity, innocence and secrecy. Early traditions also used white roses as a symbol for true love, an association which would later become the hallmark of the red roses. However, white roses continue to endure and retain their symbolism of innocence. White roses are now used to express a number of different sentiments.




             Also known as the bridal rose, the white rose is a traditional wedding flower. In this sense, they are a representation of unity, virtue and the pureness of a new bond of love. White roses are also known as a symbol  for young Love, with further strengthens the association, and makes them ideal for marriage. Bridal bouquets are often comprised of white roses and other white flowers.

           White roses can mean many things to many different people. They can symbolize new beginnings or  be a sign of farewell. They can convey feelings of love, friendship, respect and hope. An arrangement of white roses is not only beautiful, it can carry a complexity that belies its simpler appearance  Whatever the reason white roses are given, it can be assured that they will be deeply appreciated by their recipient.



Red Rose

    Red roses are given to those who you want to show love and passion, people who you have great respect for and those who have shown great courage. True red is the lover's rose. meaning of red rose is creative spirit of love. True love stronger than thorns.
  

    The shade of the red has a meaning as well. Bright red means Love, Amaranth red means long standing desire, Cardinal red means sublime desire. A withered red rose is used to show that the love is over. A red rosebud is symbolizes youthful love and beauty.

       The quantity can also have a special meaning. A single red rose shows gratitude, twenty-five shows congratulations and fifty shows unconditional love. Two red roses tied together symbolizes an engagement.


Yellow Rose

       Yellow rose - Friendship
    Yellow roses express joy, gladness and friendship. They are given to new mothers, newlyweds and graduates. They're also used as a reminder to a loved one to show that you care.


       Colors range from light yellow to golden. Varieties include Gold Strike, Skyline, Judy and Aalsmeer gold.

         In the past yellow was used to show jealousy and a decrease of love.


Pink Rose

    Grace, gentility, elegance and refinement. The rose of sweet thoughts.

     Colors range from light pink to peach to darker pink. Pink roses in general are given to those whom you want to show thankfulness, admiration and happiness. The different shades of pink can have more precise meanings.

  Deep pink is used for appreciation and gratitude, where as light pink conveys admiration and sympathy and peach roses are given to show modesty.

Orange Rose

  A warm color that says, I am proud of you.


  Colors range from bright orange to coral. Orange roses are given to those who you desire, those you want to get to know better or those who you are proud of.


Purple Rose

  Purple can indicate opulence or majesty. 

  Lavender roses show that you have fallen in love with someone from the moment you saw them. It also can be given to those who you feel are very unique, and those who you feel are enchanting.

Combinations of roses can also show different feelings and emotions.
Red & White   --- Unity
Red & Yellow --- Jovial, Happiness
Pink & White --- Forever Love
Orange & Yellow --- Passionate Thoughts
Pale colors --- Sociability and friendship

The rose plant has many other symbols as well, the leaves of a rose symbolize hope, a crown of roses symbolizes superior merit and many others.
